WHAT IT IS
An LLP is the most common business form for foreigners
A limited liability partnership (LLP) is Kazakhstan's equivalent of an LLC. Members are liable for the company's obligations only within their contribution, not with personal assets. The form suits hiring staff, working with counterparties, raising investment and getting Astana Hub resident status.
Foreign founders can own up to 100% of the company. It receives a BIN (Business Identification Number), can open accounts at Kazakhstani banks and operate on equal terms with local companies.
Limited liability
Founders risk only their contribution to the charter capital, not personal assets.
Open to non-residents
100% foreign ownership without Kazakhstani citizenship or a residence permit.
0% tax at Astana Hub
For IT companies that are Astana Hub residents: 0% corporate tax, VAT and individual income tax, fixed by law through 2029.
One manager, fully managed
A personal manager runs the whole process — from the IIN to an open account.

MANDATORY FOR FOREIGNERS
IIN and digital signature — what they are and how to get them
Two key documents without which a foreigner cannot register a company or sign documents online. Both are conveniently arranged through the AIFC Expat Centre — a one-stop shop for non-residents.
Individual Identification Number
A unique number for an individual in Kazakhstan — the equivalent of a tax ID. Any foreigner needs it to register a company, open an account and sign documents.
How to get it
Issued at a public service center or through the AIFC Expat Centre with a passport, or remotely via a notarized power of attorney. We obtain the IIN for you.
Electronic digital signature
The key you use to sign documents and file applications through the eGov portal without visiting a government office in person. It is legally equivalent to a handwritten signature.
How to get it
Issued by Kazakhstan's National Certification Authority (NCA). We help obtain it after the IIN is issued — the process can be completed remotely.
AIFC Expat Centre — one-stop shop. IIN, digital signature, company registration, residence permit and bank account are all arranged in one place, without queues. We support you at every step.
FROM ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD
Remote LLP registration for foreigners
You don't need to be physically present in Kazakhstan for most stages. Registration can be handled remotely — via a notarized power of attorney and a digital signature.
- IIN and digital signature via a notarized power of attorney, no in-person visit
- Documents prepared and filed online via eGov using the digital signature
- Legal address and initial support arranged on the ground
- Bank account opened through the AIFC Expat Centre — via the bank's own route, some banks allow it remotely
WHICH FORM TO CHOOSE
LLP, sole proprietorship, or joint-stock company — compared
For most foreign entrepreneurs, an LLP is optimal. A sole proprietorship suits micro-business, a joint-stock company suits large projects that raise capital.

|---|---|---|---|
| Who can open it | Residents and non-residents | An individual with an IIN | Residents and non-residents |
| Liability | Within the contribution | Personal assets | Within the shares |
| Charter capital | from ₸0 (small business)* | Not required | from 50,000 MCI* |
| Number of members | 1 or more | 1 (the entrepreneur) | 1 or more |
| Best for | Hiring, investment, most businesses | Freelancing, micro-business | Large business, capital raising |
| Foreign ownership | Up to 100% | Residents only* | Up to 100% |
* Exact requirements for charter capital, reporting and taxes depend on the business activity and tax regime. Confirm current thresholds with our consulting team.
